01099, Paul & Ikkimel

01099 is a German rap crew originating from Dresden, named after the postal code of the Äußere Neustadt district. Formed in 2018, the group comprises four members: Gustav, Zachi, Paul, and Dani. The members met during their school years at St. Benno-Gymnasium, with some connections dating back to early childhood. Initially starting as a parody project, their debut EP Skyr was released in 2019. They gained significant attention with the single "Frisch" in 2020, which went viral on TikTok and entered the German charts. Subsequent releases include the EP Dachfenster (2021) and the album Altbau (2022). Known for their blend of humor and contemporary hip-hop, 01099 has become a prominent act in the German music scene.

Paul is one of the founding members of 01099. Before fully committing to music, he briefly pursued studies in music but decided to focus on his rap career. Within the group, Paul contributes as a vocalist and rapper, playing a significant role in shaping their sound and lyrical content. His decision to leave formal education underscores his dedication to the group's success.

Ikkimel, born Melina Gaby Strauß, is a German rapper from Berlin-Tempelhof. She studied German philology and social and cultural anthropology at the Free University of Berlin and worked in the Brain Language Laboratory. Her music career began in 2022 with the release of singles like "Cola Zero." In 2023, she released her debut EP Aszendent Bitch and signed with Four Music. Her provocative lyrics often address themes of sexuality and empowerment. Her debut album Fotze was released in February 2025, receiving praise for its bold feminist perspective.
