Japanese Artist Olde Worlde & Brad Wood Collaborate On US Debut The Blue Musk-Oxen
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ It's Alive! Media) Critically acclaimed Japanese solo artist Olde Worlde (https://oldeworldemap.com) has confirmed a release date for his debut North American release The Blue Musk-Oxen on October 6, 2014. This is the fourth Olde Worlde release since his 2009 Japanese debut but the first distributed outside of the country.

For The Blue Musk-Oxen, Olde Worlde (aka Sohhei Numata) enlisted noted producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Pete Yorn, Ben Lee, Sunny Day Real Estate, Tortoise, Liz Phair) to record and mix the album in Los Angeles. Wood provided the multi instrumentalist Olde Worlde with a rich template of hooks and grooves reminiscent of classic pop songs and dreamy soundscapes to augment the uniquely innocent voice of Numata. Sung entirely in English, The Blue Musk-Oxen evokes the startling otherworldly vocals of vocalist Antony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons,) a favorite of Lou Reed and producer Hal Willner, yet remains uniquely his own.

Be it the dreamy track "Lemon Lake", the lounge-y "Good Boy", the electro sounds of "Thinking About You" or the bass heavy, hook laden single "Stuck in Hibernation" it's clear that Brad Wood and Olde Worlde used vocals as the base of each song and built the music around it. It's a perfectly schizophrenic album - sometimes acoustic, sometimes beat laden - but is 100% focused on utilizing the innocent, yearning vocals of Olde Worlde to drive each track. The result is perfectly serene mood music for moog people.

Born in Machida, Tokyo in November 2009, Olde Worlde's first release, Time And Velocity EP, was quickly followed by his first full-length album Anemone - Whirlwind in 2010. Propelled by his incredibly unique voice (often compared to that of a young child) garnered Olde Worlde a great deal of attention in Japan and much critical acclaim. That summer, Olde Worlde played at one of Japan's most well known festivals - Summer Sonic.

By July 2011, Olde World released his second full-length album The Lemon Shark. Olde Worlde not only produced the album but also played almost all of the instruments featured on the record including guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, piano, keyboard, moog, etc. as well as designing the album artworks himself. This critically well-received album led to coveted slot at Japan's iconic Fuji Rock Festival In the summer of 2011.

Today, Olde Worlde is poised to show the world outside of Japan his unique musical & vocal talents with The Blue Musk-Oxen.
