APA Nashville Signs Doug Seegers
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) APA Nashville has signed singer/songwriter Doug Seegers to their roster, it was announced today by APA's Cass Scripps. Seegers' journey to #1 in Scandinavia is nothing less than inspirational. After spending countless homeless nights with just his guitar at The Little Pantry That Could in the basement of the West Nashville United Methodist Church, the 62-year old singer/songwriter/guitarist was discovered by Swedish country music artist, Jill Johnson.

Johnson was there shooting a documentary on street musicians, but after hearing Seegers' story and sampling his incredible talent, she focused her efforts on his weathered soul and spirit, taking him to Cash Cabin Studios to record his rough-edged fairy tale of redemption. "Going Down To The River," was an instant sensation when released in Sweden, topping the iTunes chart at #1, with the Cinderella man becoming an unlikely overnight sensation throughout Scandinavia.

"I first learned about Doug during a lunch meeting with his producer last May. After hearing the music a month later, I knew I was all in to work with this once in a lifetime amazing artist as he realizes his artistic, professional and personal potential," commented Scripps in making the announcement. "Everyone at APA is thrilled to have Doug and his team aboard and calling APA their home."

Seegers will release his debut album, Going Down To The River, by Rounder Records on October 7, 2014. Produced by Will Kimbrough, the inaugural project features a duet with Country Music Hall of Famer Emmylou Harris on "She," which features instrumentals from Emmylou's 'Red Dirt Boys Band,' and steel guitar legend Al Perkins. Buddy Miller also makes a guest appearance.
