Country Music Hall Of Fame & Museum To Host 2016 Country Music Hall Of Fame Inductee Charlie Daniels For Interview And Performance Oct. 29, 2016
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The new exhibition Charlie Daniels: Million Mile Reflections will open Friday, Sept. 23, at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. The museum will celebrate the opening of the new exhibit with a special program featuring the 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. Hosted by museum editor Michael McCall, Daniels will discuss his career and perform a few songs.

A dynamic personality, a rousing performer, and a musical innovator, Daniels brought rock and blues motifs into mainstream country music. He began performing in his teens, in his native North Carolina, and, seven decades later, still records and tours as leader of the Charlie Daniels Band.

The program is included with museum admission and free to museum members. It will be streamed live at countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming. Seating is limited; guests can reserve tickets beginning Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. via countrymusichalloffame.org. Limited seating will be available at the door, day-of-show, for museum members or with museum admission. After the program Daniels will sign copies of the CD Gather 'Round: A Charlie Daniels Sampler, available for purchase exclusively from the Museum Store.

Running through March 2017, Charlie Daniels: Million Mile Reflections will include stagewear, guitars, awards, photos and more from Daniels' personal collection. Exhibition highlights include:

1979 Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group, presented to the Charlie Daniels Band for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

1935 National Style O resonator guitar with nickel-plated brass body and sandblasted Hawaiian scenes presented to Daniels by his friend Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Daniels' leather duster with fringe, beadwork, snakeskin overlays and silver and gold medallions, worn on the cover of his 1991 album Renegade.

The first royalty check received by Daniels and issued by Elvis Presley Music Inc. in 1964. The check was written on January 24, 1964, twelve days after Presley recorded "It Hurts Me," a song co-written by Daniels
