RUINS Unveil Indie-Τinged New Wave Single 'Βurning Library'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Hot on the heels of the release of 'Low Postcards' earlier in the year, Liverpool-based RUINS are back with the release of their latest single 'Burning Library'. Building on their distinctive, nostalgic sound, the pair reinforce their stature as a formidable creative force.

Peering across the airwaves with a steady percussion and a distorted bassline, 'Burning Library' sails across the airwaves as an authentic, somewhat eerie slice of alt-pop. Coupling together lucious falsettos and slick, indie guitar chops, the track stands at the crossroads of indie pop, with a suggestive hint of new wave. Written as a way to navigate the grieving process, the single comes brimming with a purging energy across its raw melodies.

Speaking about the track, the group explain, "'Burning Library' borrows its title from a book by one of our favourite writers, Edmund White. The notion is that when someone dies, a library burns, all that information that has been accumulated over a lifetime is lost. At the time of writing the lyrics, I felt surrounded by loss. The song was really cathartic and helped me to process losing people in my life."

RUINS are an exhilarating alt-pop duo hailing from Liverpool, United Kingdom, consisting of members Lloyd Rock and Nik Kavanagh. Winding together shimmering toplines, with melodic basslines and a healthy pop sentiment, the group have developed a reputation as a must-see live act with a cult-like appreciation. Debuting in 2018, the group have shared the stage with the likes of China Crisis, A Flock Of Seagulls and Manchester supergroup Unknown Territories.
