LONDON, UK (BBC) - R&B singer Aaliyah has scored a posthumous UK number one with her single More Than A Woman. The 22-year-old performer - full name Aaliyah Houghton - was one of nine people killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas on 25 August. The track is taken from her album Aaliyah, which was released in July.

More Than A Woman is one of six new entries in the top ten as the music industry gets back into gear after Christmas.

Club track Addicted To Bass, by Puretone, leaps 66 places up the chart to number two, while London garage artist Daniel Bedingfield's Gotta Get Thru this slips down to number three after its second stint at number one.

Rapper Dr Dre's Bad Intentions enters the chart at number four, while DJ Alligator Project's The Whistle Song is a new entry at number five.

Goldtrix and Andrea Brown's house track It's Love (Trippin') is another new entry at number six, while controversial South London collective So Solid Crew follow up their number one hit 21 Seconds with Haters, a new entry at number eight.

Feeder's Just A Day EP rises from 21 to 17 in the chart, following the death of the band's drummer Jon Lee, who hanged himself at home in Florida on 7 January.

Singer Gordon Haskell enters the album chart at number two with Harry's Bar, behind Stereophonics' Just Enough Education to Perform.
