NASHVILLE, TN (Karen Taylor-Good Official Website) - Grammy- nominated singer-songwriter
Karen Taylor-Good may be best known for the songs she has written for other artists – including hits for Patty Loveless, Collin Raye and Neal McCoy, as well as international recordings by
Sarah Jory (UK),
Bosson (Switzerland), Jeane Manson (France) and Åge Aleksandersen (Norway) – but her first international single release, "God's Refrigerator" (from her upcoming HOW MANY WOMEN CD on Insight Records) shines the spotlight on her as an artist. The single will be released to international radio programmers on April 1 via the Country HotDisc and New Christian
Music compilations.
Taylor-Good's winsome vocal delivers the song's uplifting lyrics, which are perfectly matched to a buoyant melody and a bluegrass-flavored arrangement featuring David Hungate on bass, Andy Leftwich on fiddle and mandolin, and Larry Beaird (who co-produced the track with the artist) on guitar and background vocals. Her inspiration for the song came from an e-mail story that she received 10 times over a two-week period. When, during a writing appointment, co-writer Lisa Aschmann mentioned the same e-mail as a potential song idea, 'I figured it was a sign!' Taylor-Good says. 'My greatest pleasure is watching an audience respond to the song. Many are moved to joyous laughter. Many are moved, as I was, to tears.'
As a solo artist, Taylor-Good has had nine singles that have charted in the United States. As a writer, she has had No. 1 country singles by Raye ('Not That Different'), Loveless ('How Can I Help You Say Goodbye') and McCoy ('Party On'); a No. 1 dance hit by Abigail ('If It Don't Fit'); and the title cut on Aleksandersen's platinum-selling Soon You'll Fly album. Her songs have also been recorded by Laura Branigan, Melissa Manchester, Al Jarreau, Diamond Rio, Mark Wills, Uppity Blues Women and Greek singer Nana Mouskouri, among many others.
Even though Taylor-Good is an in-demand author (On Angel's Wings), motivational keynote speaker and entrepreneur, she hopes to book some European dates later this year. HOW MANY WOMEN, as well as her book, can be purchased online now at her website, www.karentaylorgood.com, with CD Baby and Amazon to follow.
