Nashville, TN. (Mca Nashville) -- Superstar and upcoming CMA Hall of Fame Inductee George Strait announces dates for the first leg of his 2007 tour. The arena tour will kick off January 11 in Lafayette, LA with performances scheduled all across the country from Louisiana, Tennessee and Pennsylvania to Oregon, Washington and Nevada just to name a few.

The Texas Troubadour is a proven must see, no matter what part of the country! During his 2006 arena tour, The King of Country Music continued his streak of selling out and setting attendance records. Strait broke his own attendance record at Little Rock's Alltel Arena (previously set in 2004). The same week, other sold-out shows included Omaha's Qwest Center and Oklahoma City's Ford Center. George Strait holds more than 20 attendance records at venues from coast to coast.

His live shows are hailed by critics and fans and if there were a single grievance, it's the problem of having too many hits to cover! With 53 Number One songs (Billboard's all-time leader for number one country singles) and 74 Top 10 and 78 Top 20 hits, George might just miss a favorite or two. His recent critically-acclaimed and Number One CD, It Just Comes Natural, delivers 15 more cuts for fans to choose from.

"Strait is not merely a decent singer, he's a master. There are 15 songs here, and not a one of them should have been left off," says The Tennessean. "If ever there was a natural in country music, it's Strait," says People Magazine with a 4-star review. "He continues to make such consistent quality look easy," says USA Today. "He makes it sound so effortless that you wouldn't be surprised there were 53 more where that came from," says the Philadelphia Inquirer.

George has sold more than 62 million records and counting. With 26 different platinum or multi-platinum albums, he's earned the second most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only Elvis Presley. It Just Comes Natural, marks Strait's 25th anniversary as a recording artist and with a total of 53, George Strait has more #1 songs than any other single artist in history (including Elvis).

Throughout his career, George Strait has received more than 40 major entertainment industry awards and countless nominations. George Strait has had 65 Country Music Association nominations. He was the CMA "Vocalist of the Year" five times and the only artist in history to be so honored in two different decades. The Country Music Association will induct George Strait as one of the newest members of the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame. Formal induction will take place during "The 40th Annual CMA Awards," which will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network, Monday, Nov. 6 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) from the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum recording artist Ronnie Milsap will be Strait's special guest.
