MONTREAL, Canada (Top40 Charts/ GILLETT ENTERTAINMENT GROUP) - London's reining indie rock kings, BLOC PARTY, are confirmed to play Osheaga on September 9th and will be supporting their 2007 release, A Weekend in the City. Their last Montreal appearance (on March 27th at the Metropolis) was one of the spring's hottest tickets (and sold out instantly to many fans' chagrin). Known for their intense, and not to mention incredibly danceable performances, Bloc Party come as one of our proudest new additions to the 2007 lineup!

PASCALE PICARD, already topping charts with her single "Gate 22" and lauded as one of the year's "hottest discoveries" by local Quebec media will raise many eyebrows as she performs tracks from her debut album Me, Myself & Us on September 9th. The daring young songwriter deftly weaves modern folk-pop colors through alternative textures. See the phenomenon as she deserves all of your attention!

"Within this year's lineup there are 12 artists who have sold out their last Montreal performances, so we're really happy to be able to bring all these artists to a bigger venue and give people a chance to see some amazing performances. Also, this will be Amy Winehouse's first time in Montreal, and you can't look through a music mag these days without seeing her; it's been two years since Interpol was last here; Feist is garnering one rave review after the other; and The Smashing Pumpkins have been tearing it up in Europe since they've been back in action!" Osheaga's founder, Nick Farkas, has noted.

This year, over 50 incredible bands will take over Osheaga 2007's 5 stages for a two day jam packed whirlwind musical experience set upon the breath-taking backdrop of Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau, Ile Sainte-Helene (accessible by Metro Jean-Drapeau) - located just 10 minutes from downtown Montreal.
For the second year, the Art Tent will offer local and international artists a special platform allowing for one of a kind, intimate artistic and musical performances. The complete lineup will be revealed soon...
