Celebration, FL. (Top40 Charts/ One Eleven Records) - Indie label One Eleven Records celebrates 111 Day with new bands, new website, and free music.
To commemorate 111 Day (1/11), https://111records.com One Eleven Records has launched a brand new sate-of-the-art website. In conjunction with the launch, 111 has also announced the signing of three new bands - Canon, The Windupdeads, and Dearest Azazel.
Canon is a progressive four piece based out of Los Angeles. The band's sound is most often equated to an American version of Radiohead with obvious influences ranging from Jethro Tull to 16th Century Classical. "Canon has the potential to be one of the most important bands to come out of the US in years. I've been interested in working with them since 2004 and feel honored to have that opportunity to do so now," stated One Eleven Records owner, Brad Fischetti.
By definition, a "canon" is a consistent, note-for-note imitation of one melodic line by another, in which the second line starts after the first. By definition, Canon is consistent and melodic but as they may be capable of producing a "canon", Canon is no imitation. Press Here Publicity has been brought on board to handle press for the new Canon album - due in summer 2008.
The Windupdeads is a Swedish band intent on taking over the world. With a beautiful new self-produced album, the band may just reach that goal thanks to tracks that elicit the aural pleasures of Coldplay, Keane, and Snow Patrol, yet escort one to a place as dark and haunting as the "Bottom of Hell". "I signed this band because the music reminds me of some of my personal favorite bands - Travis, Radiohead, Embrace. It's the first time we've worked with a band from outside the US but we are very excited and fortunate to be working with TWUD. The band has a great manager in Rodney Afshari (Alien Ant Farm, Rock Kills Kid) and has a chance to break huge here in the States," explained Fischetti.
Press Here Publicity will be handling press for the Windupdeads' debut album slated for an early summer release. The album features the song "Reverse of Shade" - made popular by the CW show Gossip Girl.
Dearest Azazel is an electrifying synth driven Atlanta based foursome featuring songs that ooze with sugar and spice blended with more hooks than a tackle box. The contagious keyboard melodies and tasty sing-along song arrangements captivate listeners while opera trained music master lead singer, Peter Armstrong, shows a vocal range as wide as a Montana cattle ranch. "Dearest Azazel is unlike any band I have heard. First time I saw these guys play live I was blown away. The sound is huge and reminiscent of the hippest 80s New Wave dance grooves yet plows a brand new musical path," said Fischetti.
One Eleven Records will release the anticipated debut record by Dearest Azazel in the spring of 2008.
In partnership with Purevolume.com, One Eleven Records is offering an exclusive digital sampler featuring free music from Canon, the Windupdeads, Dearest Azazel, and the entire 111 roster.
