NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Ram Records) - Pull the car out of the 'garage' as everything old becomes new again: THE DOUGHBOYS have returned! Pioneers of real garage rock, THE DOUGHBOYS are back together to reclaim their rightful spot as flag bearers of one of the classic genres of rock 'n' roll still influencing musicians today. With their newly recorded, recently released album Is It Now?, the band is revving up for a series of performances in the coming months.

Young bands like the Strokes, The Hives and Jet discovered garage in the early-2000s and began to borrow from one of the original sounds of rock. When tracing these bands' lineage back to the 1960s, one would certainly come across THE DOUGHBOYS. The only band left standing from America's garage phenomenon; THE DOUGHBOYS have reunited and are basking in universal acclaim:

'Lovers of the '60s-style garage rock will find [Is It Now?] to be an excellent and thoroughly rewarding reunion album for the Doughboys.' - All Music Guide

'Despite the four decades that have transpired since [the Doughboys] last recorded together, there's still a zeal and tenacity in their seamless blend of vintage sounding originals and choice classic covers.' - Performing Songwriter

'...[Is It Now?] combines spirited, authentically tough-sounding period covers with grounded originals that admirably capture the vibe of the era.' -USA Today

In 2002, "Little Steven" Van Zandt became the ambassador for the garage rock revival via his radio program Little Steven's Underground Garage. Today, Van Zandt has dubbed THE DOUGHBOYS' 'Black Sheep' the 'coolest song in the world.'

Richard X. Heyman, The Doughboys' drummer and contributing songwriter, has pursued a career as a singer/songwriter and in 2007 released his sixth album, 'Actual Sighs.' He has also appeared in concert as guitarist with famed Mary Weiss of The Shangri-Las. Lead singer and blues harpist Myke Scavone may be familiar to some from his turn fronting the '70s band Ram Jam, whose international hit 'Black Betty' hit the top 20 in 1977, and has since been featured in movies including Jonathan Demme's 2001 film 'Blow' which starred Johnny Depp. Mike Caruso (session player) is the bassist and Gar Francis, a/k/a 'Plainfield Slim' (session player, notably of 'Mony Mony' by Billy Idol) is the guitarist and contributing songwriter. All four band members are New Jersey natives.

THE DOUGHBOYS will be taking their show on the road with a series of tour dates throughout the summer.

Upcoming dates include:
Tuesday, May 6th - Sellersville Theatre - Sellersville, PA*
Wednesday, May 7th - B.B. King Blues Club - New York, NY*
