The Band Perry Is No 1 On AC Chart! Third Time In A Decade That A Single Goes #1 At Country & AC
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Sunshine Sachs) The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" is the No 1 song on Billboard's Neilsen/BDS Adult Contemporary Chart this week - almost one full year after the song first hit No 1 on the Country Chart. It's only the third time in a decade that a single has reached No 1 on both the AC and the Country charts, along with Taylor Swift's "You Belong to Me" and Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now."

Since "If I Die Young" was first released by Republic Nashville, it has been certified Triple Platinum and the video has racked up over 40 million views on Youtube. In the meantime, on the Country charts, their cheating anthem, "You Lie" went all the way to #2 and their current romantic ballad, "All Your Life" has climbed into the Top 15 on the Mediabase chart.

"We couldn't be more honored that 'If I Die Young' has resonated with so many. Since it first found an audience, many people have told us stories about playing this song to find comfort or inspiration. Today, and each day, we're filled with gratitude that we're a part of that," said Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry.

The sibling trio currently has five CMA nominations, three AMA nominations and six ACA nominations. Earlier this week, they were featured on the MSN homepage as one of the "Hottest Country Stars Under 30" while Billboard.com featured TBP's bluegrass-tinged performance of Queen's "Fat Bottom Girls," which is a staple of their rollicking live shows.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY:
The Band Perry's "modern throwback" style combines classic Country with an eclectic infusion of Rock, Gospel and Soul. As songwriters and musicians, their sound is rounded out by perfect three-part harmonies. The self-titled debut album, THE BAND PERRY was released in October 2010 by Republic Nashville - the album was certified Gold just four months later and is poised to go Platinum by the end of 2011.

Their five nominations for the 45th Annual CMA Awards include Single of the Year; Vocal Group of the Year; Music Video of the Year and New Artist of the Year as well as a nomination for Song of the Year for Kimberly Perry. Their three 2011 AMA nominations include Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group; Favorite Country Album and New Country Artist of the Year. They've also received an overwhelming six nominations for the ACA Awards in December. Previously, they won the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year (June 2011), the "Best New Live Act" Award sponsored by Nationwide Insurance (June 2011), an ACM Award for New Duo or Group of the Year (April 2011) and the coveted ACM Award for New Artist of the Year (April 2011). TBP has also been nominated for Grammy, CMA, TEEN CHOICE and ACA awards.

In August 2011, Washington Post pop music critic, Chris Richards referred to The Band Perry as "the best new band in Country" as they toured with Tim McGraw. Currently, TBP is on the road with Reba. As they continue to perform their own headlining dates, they look forward to joining Brad Paisley on his "Camobunga! 2012 World Tour" in January.
