Nirvana Set For Christmas No 1!
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) The race for Christmas UK Singles No 1 has already begun! Bookmakers have put The Wombles and Nirvana's classic 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' as second favourite to be this year's Christmas No 1.

Ladbrokes are already claiming that X-Factor personage Amelia Lily is the favourite at 7/2, but the classic 1991 single by the Seattle legends is close behind at 4/1.
2011, of course, marked the 20th anniversary of the Nevermind album.

Fans are being encouraged to buy the track as a response to the usual X Factor domination of the festive chart. In 2009, an anti-X Factor campaign catapulted Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name to the top of the charts ahead of show winner Joe McElderry.

From the campaign Facebook page: "After the AWESOME chart victory for Rage Against The Machine lots of us felt that there'd be no need to do another campaign again. Yet this year they decided to effectively bully a children's charity called RHYTHMIX by refusing to change the name of the tepid girl band and suggesting the charity "get a lawyer". Eventually, the X Factor relented. But the question remains...if they are so supportive of charity WHY tell Rhythmix to get a lawyer instead of offering support?"

Also on the list are a whole list of Simon Cowell-based acts that we're not really sure of, plus Amy Winehouse at 12/1, One Direction at 20/1, Rage Against The Machine at 25/1, teen sensation Justin Bieber (25/1), Adele (33/1) and, oddly, The Beatles at 100/1.
