Britain's Modestep Play Their First US Dates On The West Coast In December 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Having already ignited massive audiences in the U.K. with their raucous live shows, London-based dubstep-influenced rock band Modestep will perform in the U.S. for the first time ever, playing three West coast cities - San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles - in December. Please see below for all dates.

"Since we started Modestep over two years ago, the majority of our fans have come from the U.S.," says the band's frontman and keyboardist Josh Friend. "It's been a year of talks with different promoters, and finally we get to bring our live show to the States. Expect big bass, epic stage shows, and an abundance of energy. We're ready for you America, let's hope you're ready for us too."

Modestep, which also includes Josh's brother Tony Friend (DJ, guitar) Matt Curtis (drums), and Nick Tsang (guitar),is not simply a "dance/rock crossover" act, but is attempting to join a tradition of massive acts who see beyond the guitar-band format to bring technology and performance together to create something ultra dramatic. From Pink Floyd to Muse, Slipknot to Pendulum, the band's influences are sonically ambitious and theatrical on a gigantic scale. They weave dubstep's contemporary sounds into thrilling, genre hopping songs, and couple this with an explosive live show that is as hard-hitting and sweat-inducing as any traditional rock band's. In the U.K., Modestep have lit up festival crowds at Glastonbury, Download, LED, and Isle of Wight with their non-stop sonic assault, and had the chorus to their second single "Sunlight" chanted back at them from huge crowds culled from an ever-growing Internet fanbase. The videos for "Sunlight" and their debut U.K. single "Feel Good" have each been viewed more than eight million times on YouTube.

The band's latest single "To The Stars" has just been released by Interscope Records in the U.S. and is currently available on iTunes as a four-track EP featuring three remixes. One critic wrote of the track: "How would you like your ears throttled, yanked off, and then trodden upon by four London lads who produce an almighty racket that can only be described using words like large, sick, and a little bit naughty? Then Modestep's A-listed latest is most certainly for you." "Feel Good," "Sunlight," and "To The Stars" have all gone Top 10 on the UK Dance chart. Their debut album is due out in the U.S. in early 2012.

Modestep's upcoming U.S. tour dates are as follows:
Dec 08 - San Diego - Voyeur (DJ set)
Dec 09 - San Francisco - The Regency
Dec 10 - Los Angeles, CA - Music Box
