
CLEVELAND (Beatles Fans Website) - Beatle fans and Beatle bands from all over the world will come together in the "Rock and Roll Capital of the World" August 6-8 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The
Beatles first North American tour.
The earth shattering, teen screaming, ear blasting tour that launched "The British Invasion", visited 23 cities between August 19 and September 20, 1964 and descended upon Cleveland's Public Auditorium on Sept. 15th.
The majestic building dedicated in 1922 joins Carnegie Hall, Red Rocks, and The Hollywood Bowl as one of only 4 original venues remaining in The U.S. from that seminal tour.
To honor that historic visit, The Rock Capital is rolling out a fab-ulous celebration fitting for Beatle Fans.
1. From now thru July 25th all "Ultimate Ticket To Ride" travel package customers will be automatically registered in a drawing to win a trip to Los Angeles to see Sir Paul McCartney himself, live in concert, Oct. 15th at The Annual Adopt-a-Minefield Benefit Gala.
2. On August 5th tribute band British Export will recreate the famous roof top concert that ended The Beatles concert career with an exact reproduction concert from the roof of The Velvet Dog Saloon in downtown Cleveland's trendy Warehouse Entertainment District.
3. Then on August 6th, over 20,000 Beatle fans from all over the world will descend upon the celebrated auditorium for Abbey Road On The River; three fab-filled days of bands, art, films, food, and friends.
- International bands and artists from Japan, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Scotland, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and Toronto, will join American favorites, Working Class Hero, American English, Hard Days Night, and Beatlemania Live, and will perform on 4 stages, (aptly named John, Paul, George, and Ringo), the complete catalogue of all The Beatles recordings.
- Canadian recording artist Hal Bruce will attempt to set a world record by performing all 209 songs The Beatles recorded in a single set.
- World famous Beatles artist Shannon and renowned photo journalist George Shuba are among 25 gifted artists who will be displaying rare Beatle art, collectibles, books, and memorabilia.
- Scotland's Lawrence Macca as Paul, LA's Tim Piper as John, Liverpool's Gavin Pring as George, and Chicago's Jim Martin as Ringo will create a tribute super group and present the Fantasy Reunion Concert we never got to see; The Lads together in 2004.
- An incredible chance for 6 amateur musicians to walk in the footsteps of their musical heroes, and perform on the Public Auditorium Stage if they advance to the finals of the "We Hope We Passed The Audition" Contest.
