Topshelf Records To Release Most Recent EP ("The Future Is Now") From Influential Japanese Post-Rockers TOE In North America On November 6, 2012; EU/UK Tour Kicks Off 9/16
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Earshot Media) Topshelf Records is extremely excited to announce that it will be releasing the most recent EP from Japanese post-rock legends, toe. The label plans to release "the future is now" on 10" vinyl via three color ways (with first press limted to 1,000) as well as on CD on November 6, 2012. Pre-order at: https://www.tsr-store.com/artist/toe.

While mentioned in many post-rock circles, toe's song structure and dynamics are similar to many popular math rock artists. The band is composed of Kashikura Takashi on drums, Mino Takaaki on guitar, Yamane Satoshi on bass guitar, and Yamazaki Hirokazu on guitar. toe has played with this line-up since the band's inception in 2000. The vast majority of the music is instrumental and features the swift and acute drumming of Takashi. The band is also known for its melodic, clean guitar settings. Additionally, the compositions have repetition from typical rock motifs, but use very subtle changes in beat and rhythm to form a unique sound. toe has changed their sound over their musical tenure by incorporating acoustic guitars, rhodes piano, and vibraphones in their most recent releases.

toe tours regularly in Japan, and can most notably be compared to acts such as Pele and The Album Leaf. Check out this video of the band playing the Fuji Rock Festival in 2010:

Topshelf Records co-owner Kevin Duquette says, "toe is one of my favorite bands of all time (my last.fm charts don't lie!) and one of the main reasons I got into this music community that (co-owner and label partner) Seth (Decoteau) and I both love so much. This has been in the works for years and I'm beyond excited that it's finally come to fruition."

toe will be embarking on their first ever EU / UK tour this month. Dates are below. They play just one UK date, with pre-sales selling out within a matter of days, and only a small handful being reserved for sale on the day.
