Each year since Elvis' death in 1977, thousands of people from around the world have gathered at his home Graceland, in Memphis, to celebrate his life in a week of events now known around the globe as ELVIS WEEK. And, for the fifth year, fans from all over the world can participate in the largest activity, the Candlelight Vigil on August 15th, via the live VigilCast on AOL.

This year in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of Rock & Roll and of Elvis Presley's career, all the Elvis exhibit areas on the Graceland Mansion tour will be enhanced with rarely displayed and never-before-displayed items from the extensive Graceland archives.
The week is filled with numerous and varied activities such as the Clay Millican Dragster Burnout, 20th Annual Elvis Art Contest & Exhibit, Elvis 50th Anniversary Special Dance Party and a special RIAA Sales Awards Presentation from BMG for the newly released DVD sets "Elvis: '68 Comeback Special - Deluxe Edition DVD" and "Elvis, Aloha from Hawaii -- Deluxe Edition DVD."
In addition this year, in conjunction with Graceland/EPE and the Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation, The Gambia and Grenada will issue a new sheet of Elvis postage stamps to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Rock & Roll. These two countries' government postal administrations will jointly unveil the official postage stamps in a special ceremony at Graceland Plaza.
Other activities include Conversations on Elvis, where Elvis friends and associates share stories and answer questions, marking the 50th anniversary of Rock n Roll and Elvis' career.
Elvis Collectors Club members from around the world gather for the Official Elvis Collectors Club Conference, and returning this year are the annual Elvis Trivia Contest and the 22nd Annual Elvis Presley International 5K Run and Fun Walk, benefiting United Cerebral Palsy.
The annual Candlelight Vigil and VigilCast 2004 is Sunday August 15th. This is the largest Elvis Week event when thousands of fans are invited to walk up to Elvis' grave carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. A portion of the evening will be broadcast live on AOL as the fifth annual VigilCast.
