New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Emily Tan Media) What does it take to stay on top of the global electronic dance music (EDM) scene for 21 years and never lose relevance? It takes an innate understanding of music, crowds, humanity. It also requires top-flight studio production and irresistible melodies. For these reasons, the Netherlands'
Ferry Corsten has been on top of the game for more than two decades, all the while outracing young guns forever nipping at his heels. On November 18th, Corsten releases his long-awaited single, "Many Ways" featuring Jenny Wahlström (Premier Recordings).
With a breathtakingly beautiful intro and Jenny Wahlström's delectable vocals, Corsten crafts an uplifting and positively soaring song as at home on the summer festival circuit as it will be during peak time in America's most luxurious superclubs. The melody and message of the song stand above and linger in the hearts of smiling, sweaty fans long after they have had their hands in-the-air. At a time when the growth of the genre known as EDM has reached explosive heights, Corsten brings the public dialogue back to the music with this high-energy, life-affirming song.
Hailing from Rotterdam, the Netherlands,
Ferry Corsten has been a world-class DJ/producer for 21 years and his first album, Out Of The Blue, became an enormous success. Corsten has seven full-length studio albums under his belt: Looking Forward as Ferr; Out Of The Blue and Together as
System F; and Right Of Way, L.E.F.,
Twice In A Blue Moon and WKND as Ferry Corsten. These seven albums have yielded more than their share of Gold records, including "Punk," "Out Of The Blue," "Rock Your Body Rock," and other dance floor anthems including "
Made Of Love" featuring Betsie Larkin and "Radio Crash." In 2006 when Corsten released "Fire" with
Duran Duran front man
Simon LeBon, that record also became a radio hit. Corsten's smash single, "Beautiful," was released to widespread acclaim in 2007 and the song is still demanded by Corsten's audiences today. A collaboration with Armin van Buuren on the WKND album in 2012 produced another clubland killer, "Brute." Corsten heads Flashover Recordings, the label he founded in 2005. Corsten has released numerous compilations including in the Trance Nation series for Ministry Of Sound with more than 1 million copies sold. Corsten's Once Upon A Night compilation series has itself been a platform for new talent, with volume four expected in 2014. Corsten has produced and remixed for Justin Bieber, U2, Moby, Faithless, The Killers,
William Orbit, Duran Duran, Public Enemy,
Nelly Furtado and many others. In 2007, Corsten launched his FULL ON live show concept whereby he melds different styles of dance music by playing back-to-back sets with his hand-picked roster of DJ/producer friends and a state-of-the-art stage setup. Corsten's radio show, "Corsten's Countdown," was launched in 2007 and it is known as the only EDM interactive weekly music chart show. Corsten's Countdown is currently broadcast in more than 40 countries via 210 radio stations including SiriusXM in the U.S.
